Malanda – Lake Eacham – Lake Barrine – Yungaburra river walk – Malanda
At Lake Eacham I did the walk all around the deep blue maar. The lake is a round crater filled with water, so called maar. There where and to be seen. A giant crazy looking real big tree, probably a fig tree, but I am not sure that, to crazy! Only few people around. I did go to the tree plant , interesting, because there is a group of about 500 who are active in replanting and wilderness areas, providing corridors for wildlife migration.
At Lake Barrine a had a and looked at the two old gigantic Hope Pine trees.
Then I drove to Yungaburra and did the platypus lookout, luckily there was one swimming just in front of me. After another coffee at the bookshop and talking with a village lady I bought meet and went back to my place. I met the landowner and he invited me to one beer and some funny chatting.
I did dinner, white cabage, turmeric, beef, onion and potatoes.
