Driving from Charlton to Charters Towers
I was up with the first sun rays on this open grassy camp ground. It was could at night and I wasn’t a 100 % comfortable in my sleeping bag. Getting out of my tent I noticed that there was some heavy wet dew on the tent canvas. I did my morning washing, shaving basically, and had a cold breakfast, no . I dried the tent and took it down. Lovely day, blue skies and strong .
Filling petrol at the station, price was 1.44 $ that’s ok so far out. Washed the windows for a and hit the road again.
I am bit tired of car driving. I am not much into it any way. This is not exactly my way of , but still the best you could get around out here, no real alternative present.
Australia is huge and public transport is very limited.
Hitch is banned and almost not used.
I got to Charters Towers and drove into the and walked to the to get a city map.
I went to next building the “Stock Exchange”, the Café was closed so I just took one seat and connected to the internet and I had no replay from my host.
How could I find out? He said just tell me when you are coming and pop in. There must be a hint on his personal profile, I did read it again and there it was. So I drove up to this school, where they volunteered and walked into the administration office and asked for him. She pointed out the building to me in which they are dwelling. He was very astound how I did find him!
But we had a nice evening.
